Although we don't have much in the park itself for
children (such as a games room or a playground) most families find
plenty to do and enjoy activities such as swimming, fishing, cricket
and ball games on the beach etc. We do have:
A brand new salt water swimming pool, replacing the
one in this photo. Its open 9 a.m. to 6
Swimming lessons from a qualified local swimming instructor can be arranged for a modest fee.
Swimming in the ocean at Greenglades Beach is safe on
calm days, with all the usual cautions about rips and other possible
dangers of swimming in the sea. Swimming anywhere in the lake
itself is considered safe.
Some board games, library books and plenty of DVDs/videos are
available, all free of charge.
The Wonboyn village tennis court is available for hire
for a modest upkeep fee.
5 miles of beautiful empty beach
Plenty of space for the kids to run around and ride
Parrots, lorikeets and the ubiquitous wood ducks
congregate in the office area for feeding twice a
day. Children staying in the park can get free birdseed, limited to
one container per child, morning and afternoon. There are dozens of
other interesting bird species as well - I've counted 20 from my
spot on the verandah in a single afternoon.
Abundant wildlife, including possums, kangaroos,
wallabies, wombats, goannas etc.
Plenty of attractions in the Eden and Sapphire Coast
